Supported Employment
Supported Employment services under Pennsylvania's Community HealthChoices (CHC) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program assist individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining competitive jobs. These services include job matching, workplace accommodations, ongoing support, and skill development, empowering the individuals to achieve meaningful, long-term employment and greater independence in their communities.
Job Training and Employment Support
Vocational training programs to help individuals acquire job skills relevant to their interests.
Job placement assistance and ongoing support in the workplace, including job coaching and adaptations as needed.
Volunteer Opportunities
Assistance in finding and securing volunteer placements that match individual interests and skills.
Support in engaging with local non-profits or community service organizations to foster a sense of purpose and connection.
Access to Technology and Communication Aids
Assistance with obtaining and using technology (e.g., smartphones, tablets) to facilitate communication and access to community resources.
Training on assistive technology to enhance participation in community activities.
Skill-Building Programs
Workshops that focus on life skills development, such as cooking, budgeting, and personal hygiene, to enhance independence.
Training in social skills to improve interactions and relationships with peers and community members.
Job Finding
Job Finding is an individualized service that assists participants to obtain competitive, integrated employment. Competitive integrated employment is full or part-time work at minimum wage or higher, with wages and benefits similar to those without disabilities performing the same work, and fully integrated with co-workers without disabilities.
